Job Description

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Legal Assistant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This is a long-term contract position, ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a solid background in legal support. The role involves assisting attorneys with litigation processes, managing schedules, and ensuring the smooth filing of legal documents.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and file legal documents accurately using e-filing systems
  • Support attorneys in civil litigation matters by organizing case files and documentation
  • Maintain and update calendars to track court dates, deadlines, and meetings
  • Coordinate with courts and other parties to ensure timely submission of court filings
  • Assist in drafting correspondence and legal forms as needed
  • Conduct research to gather relevant case information and legal precedents
  • Ensure compliance with all legal procedures and protocols
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel
  • Manage administrative tasks such as data entry and document organization
  • Monitor case progress and provide regular updates to attorneys

Requirements

  • Proficiency in e-filing systems and electronic court submissions
  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and legal terminology
  • Excellent calendar management skills, including scheduling and deadline tracking
  • Familiarity with court filing requirements and processes
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Prior experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role is preferred
