We are looking for a skilled, enthusiastic legal assistant to join our team in Santa Ana, California. This position offers the opportunity to support attorneys in a dynamic and nationally recognized defense firm, specializing in general liability, premises, and product liability cases. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality administrative support.
Job Responsibility:
Provide administrative assistance to attorneys, managing a 3:1 or occasionally 4:1 desk setup
Handle extensive state and federal e-filing processes to ensure timely submission of legal documents
Prepare and format legal documents, including Tables of Authorities (TOAs) and Tables of Contents (TOCs), along with client correspondence
Process attorney expenses using platforms such as ProRiver, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Coordinate and manage attorney calendars, ensuring all deadlines and appointments are tracked effectively
Maintain proficiency with document management systems, such as iManage, to organize and retrieve case files
Support office operations by contributing to general administrative tasks and fostering team collaboration
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role
Proficiency in e-filing processes for both state and federal courts
Familiarity with civil litigation procedures and legal terminology
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience using document management systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented environment
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency
