A busy firm in the West Caldwell area is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our growing firm. This Legal Assistant will get the chance to join a dynamic team that offers career advancement, a hybrid working schedule, and the ability to wear many hats. The ideal Legal Assistant will have prior experience in bankruptcy law and has experience both domestic as well as international (not required). This Legal Assistant will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of legal processes and providing essential assistance to attorneys.
Job Responsibility:
Draft and prepare various legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, pleadings, contracts, and estate planning materials
Manage filings with state and federal courts, including electronic submissions, while ensuring compliance with court requirements
Support attorneys in trial preparation and deliver assistance during trial proceedings
Coordinate conference calls, video meetings, and other communications as needed
Handle administrative tasks such as processing check requests, submitting expense reports, and maintaining accurate client files
Collaborate with office services to manage large-scale document production, including copying and scanning
Open and close client matters while maintaining proper organization of files in both electronic and physical formats
Serve as a key member of the legal support team, providing assistance across the firm as required
Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall operations
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role
Proficiency with case management software and tools
Strong skills in calendar management and scheduling
Excellent client relations abilities with a detail-oriented approach
Solid knowledge of litigation processes and legal terminology
High level of organizational and administrative expertise
Familiarity with state and federal court filing procedures, including electronic systems
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
