We are looking for a Legal Assistant to support a busy litigation practice in Miami, Florida. This contract opportunity has the potential to become a long-term role and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and can manage competing deadlines with accuracy and consistency. The role focuses on litigation support, court filings, document preparation, and coordination of key case activities.
Job Responsibility
Prepare, revise, and format legal documents, correspondence, and case-related materials for attorney review and filing
Submit court filings electronically and ensure all documents meet jurisdictional rules, deadlines, and formatting requirements
Maintain attorney calendars by tracking hearings, filing deadlines, meetings, and other critical litigation milestones
Coordinate scheduling for depositions, court appearances, client meetings, and other case-related events
Organize and update case files, pleadings, and supporting documentation to keep matters moving efficiently
Assist with civil and commercial litigation matters by monitoring deadlines and following up on outstanding tasks
Communicate with courts, clients, opposing counsel, and vendors in a clear and timely manner
Requirements
Prior experience supporting attorneys in a litigation-focused legal assistant role
Working knowledge of electronic court filing procedures and related documentation standards
Experience handling calendar management for legal deadlines, hearings, and case events
Ability to draft, proofread, and format legal documents with strong attention to detail
Familiarity with civil litigation processes
commercial litigation exposure is a plus
Experience arranging depositions and coordinating schedules across multiple parties
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several priorities in a deadline-driven environment
