We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will provide critical support to our legal department, focusing on real estate-related matters. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Job Responsibility:

  • Assist attorneys with the preparation, review, and organization of legal documents related to real estate transactions
  • Conduct research on legal issues and provide summaries for attorney review
  • Maintain and update case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and other parties to gather necessary information and coordinate activities
  • Schedule meetings, hearings, and appointments, while managing attorneys' calendars
  • Draft correspondence, reports, and other legal documents as needed
  • Ensure compliance with legal procedures and deadlines by monitoring case progress
  • Provide administrative support such as answering calls, managing emails, and handling office correspondence
  • Review and process invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in real estate law
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures
  • Proficiency in legal research and document management tools
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in legal studies or a related field
