We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join a corporate legal team on a Contract basis in Watsonville, California. This short-term assignment is well suited for someone who can quickly provide dependable administrative and document support in a fast-moving legal environment. The role focuses on maintaining organized records, assisting with legal documentation, and helping the department operate efficiently with a high degree of accuracy and discretion.
Job Responsibility
Maintain and organize legal records in both digital and hard-copy formats to support easy retrieval and consistent file accuracy
Assist with document handling activities such as scanning, filing, labeling, and indexing materials within the department's record systems
Provide daily administrative support to attorneys and legal team members, helping manage routine tasks and workflow needs
Draft, format, and revise basic legal documents, letters, and related correspondence in accordance with internal standards
Monitor records and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and proper retention to support compliance requirements
Contribute to special assignments and additional office support tasks as priorities shift during the contract period
Requirements
At least 2 years of experience in a legal assistant or administrative support role, ideally within a corporate setting
Strong organizational abilities with careful attention to detail and accuracy in document handling
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with electronic document or records management systems
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with sound judgment and professionalism
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to stay productive in a fast-paced environment
Availability to commit to a short-term contract assignment
