Job Description:

We are on the lookout for a dedicated Legal Assistant for our operations in Columbia, Maryland. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks in a law firm setting, including customer interaction, record keeping, and account monitoring.

Job Responsibility:

  • Efficiently handle customer credit applications processing
  • Manage and maintain precise customer credit records
  • Regularly monitor customer accounts and take necessary action when required
  • Effectively manage client relationships and communication
  • Take charge of calendar management and claim administration tasks
  • Conduct billing functions in compliance with standard procedures
  • Use Case Management Software for efficient work flow
  • Proficiently use CompuLaw and Aderant for legal processes
  • Utilize Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) effectively
  • Handle Adobe Acrobat for document management and manipulation

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a related role
  • Proficiency in the use of Aderant, a legal practice management software
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat for document management
  • Familiarity with the Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) is a must
  • Experience using case management software for coordination of legal cases
  • Knowledge of CompuLaw, a legal calendar and risk management system
  • Ability to handle billing functions such as invoicing, expense tracking and report generation
  • Proven experience in calendar management, including scheduling appointments and meetings
  • Experience in claim administration, including tracking, processing and managing legal claims
  • Strong client relations skills, including maintaining client confidentiality and managing client interactions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with clients, attorneys, and court officials
