Job Responsibility:
Take ownership of assigned cases or projects from kickoff to completion
Organize and maintain case files, discovery materials, and key documentation
Track down missing information and coordinate directly with clients, courts, outside counsel, and other contacts
Draft working versions of legal documents — pleadings, affidavits, subpoenas, releases, discovery responses, and more
Prepare documents for filing with accuracy and compliance in mind
Support discovery processes by preparing drafts, organizing productions, summarizing records, and managing deadlines
Create clear, concise summaries of depositions, discovery responses, and other evidence for attorney review
Conduct foundational legal and fact research when requested
Monitor ongoing matters and confidently flag upcoming deadlines or concerns
Act as a trusted point of contact for clients — providing updates, collecting documents, and answering routine questions
Communicate with court staff, experts, and other parties to move matters forward
Help prepare clients and attorneys for hearings, depositions, and other proceedings
Maintain calendars and schedule depositions, hearings, meetings, and court appearances
Track critical deadlines and keep internal reminders organized
Open new matters, perform conflict checks, and set up digital and physical files
Draft and proofread correspondence and internal documents
Handle incoming calls, emails, and mail with professionalism and efficiency
Step in to support other team members during busy periods
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal capacity — or relevant administrative experience supporting legal processes
Familiarity with legal documents, terminology, and court procedures
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document management tools
Ability to perform basic legal research using platforms (or willingness to learn)
Excellent written communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize, juggle multiple tasks, and work both independently and collaboratively
Comfort learning new technologies, including emerging AI‑assisted tools
