We are looking for a dedicated Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join a reputable plaintiff-focused personal injury law firm in Oakland, California. Job Responsibility:
Support attorneys in managing personal injury cases from initial intake through resolution, ensuring all phases of litigation are handled efficiently
Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Communicate effectively with clients, medical providers, and insurance companies to gather information and provide case updates
Organize and maintain case files, track deadlines, and manage calendars to ensure timely completion of tasks
Prepare discovery responses, settlement documentation, and trial preparation materials to assist attorneys in achieving case objectives
Handle administrative responsibilities such as data entry, document management, and correspondence tracking
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with clients and colleagues
Collaborate with the legal team to streamline processes and improve case outcomes
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in plaintiff personal injury law is preferred
Strong knowledge of personal injury litigation processes and procedures
Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to interact professionally with clients and legal professionals
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
A paralegal certificate or equivalent education is preferred but not required
Familiarity with discovery, civil litigation, trial preparation, and case management software
