We are looking for a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support a plaintiff-side personal injury practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This is a Contract position for a detail-oriented candidate who can manage case documentation, coordinate litigation support tasks, and keep deadlines on track in an in-office setting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable preparing discovery materials, organizing records for production, and assisting with court-related filings while maintaining accuracy throughout the case lifecycle.
Job Responsibility
Prepare, review, and organize discovery materials for plaintiff personal injury matters, including interrogatories and document production packets
Draft and assemble responses to written discovery requests while ensuring supporting records are complete and properly tracked
Coordinate electronic filing of legal documents with courts and confirm submissions meet formatting and timing requirements
Maintain calendars for case deadlines, hearings, and litigation milestones to help the legal team stay ahead of scheduling needs
Manage physical and electronic case files, keeping pleadings, correspondence, and evidence organized and easy to retrieve
Work closely with attorneys and staff to gather medical records, supporting documents, and other materials needed for active cases
Requirements
Prior experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in plaintiff personal injury law
Working knowledge of discovery procedures, including drafting or supporting interrogatories, requests, and responses
Experience handling document production and organizing case materials for litigation
Proficiency with electronic filing systems and court submission processes
Strong calendar management skills with the ability to monitor multiple deadlines accurately
Excellent attention to detail, written communication, and file organization abilities
