A well-established law firm in the southwest metro is seeking a Legal Assistant or Paralegal to support its Creditor's Rights practice. This role offers the opportunity to work across both collections and litigation matters, supporting attorneys throughout the full lifecycle of a case—from pre-litigation demands through post-judgment enforcement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with litigation experience who is interested in or has exposure to collections work, and is looking to build a niche practice area in a stable, high-volume environment.
Job Responsibility:
Draft demand letters, settlement agreements, payment plans, and related correspondence
Communicate with clients, debtors, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Track account status and payment activity
Draft pleadings, motions, complaints, affidavits, and other court filings
Prepare exhibits and assist with trial preparation
Monitor court dockets, deadlines, and calendars
Handle e-filing and coordinate service of process
Partner with attorneys on case strategy and workflow
Maintain organized case files (electronic and physical)
Prepare correspondence and internal reports
Assist with scheduling, client communication, and general legal support
Support legal research and document review as needed
Requirements:
2+ years of litigation legal assistant or paralegal experience
Some exposure to or demonstrated interest in collections or creditor's rights work
Strong drafting skills and familiarity with court filings and procedures
