Job Description

Our client, a leading independent law firm in Quebec with a vast international network, is seeking a Legal Assistant specializing in civil and commercial litigation. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide invaluable support to a team of lawyers in managing their practice and handling client mandates, both legally and administratively.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft and maintain procedures and correspondence
  • Prepare standard procedures and other documentation required for the completion of mandates
  • Keep up-to-date with rules and procedures
  • Proactively support professionals in managing and monitoring their files
  • Maintain the calendar and files, including managing the deadlines of assigned professionals
  • Conduct professional and courteous follow-ups with current and potential clients
  • Prepare the required documentation for various scheduled events
  • Prepare standard documentation, such as letters of intent, contracts, resolutions, notices, etc.
  • Proofread and correct documents
  • Prepare expense reports
  • Perform all other related tasks and responsibilities

Requirements

  • College diploma (DEC) in legal secretarial studies
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience as a legal assistant in litigation
  • Bilingualism (fluency in French and English)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent communication, organizational, collaboration, and teamwork skills
  • Professionalism, autonomy, proactivity, and rigor
  • Adaptability, openness to change, positive attitude, and flexibility
