Job Description

Airbus Commercial is looking for a Legal and Compliance Sanctions Manager (f/m) to join our Export Control Department based in Toulouse, France. Airbus is committed to conducting its business with integrity, in accordance with all local and international laws and regulations including sanctions. The Export Control Programme Office is responsible for ensuring that the key elements of the export control and sanctions compliance programme are effective and reflective of changing laws and regulations as well as in line with the overall export control strategy deployed by Airbus top management. The Export Control Programme Office is responsible for ensuring sanctions compliance across divisions. The “Sanctions Senior Manager” has a key role to ensure the group sanctions compliance by providing sanctions expertise to the management and leading the sanctions teams activities.

Job Responsibility

  • Regulatory & Strategic Advisory: Interpreting EU, US, and UK regulations and assessing their specific impact on the business and functions
  • Providing impact assessments and regular updates to management and cross-functional teams
  • Drafting high-level legal memos on complex dealings to guide management decisions
  • Engaging directly with sanctions authorities on complex filings or reporting
  • Governance: Updating Directives, Methods, and internal guidelines on sanctions activities
  • Establishing and monitoring performance metrics for the sanctions team
  • Harmonizing sanctions approaches between different business and divisions to ensure a unified approach
  • Transactional and Operational Compliance: Investigating entities with identified "red flags" and providing go/no-go recommendations
  • Ensuring sanctions and export control requirements are embedded in the Know Your Customer/Supplier processes
  • Reviewing the sanctions compliance posture of third-party intermediaries and partners
  • Supporting sales teams in negotiating sanctions clauses and reviewing standard contract templates
  • Providing expert support and analysis adapted to the business needs (Procurement, Sales, Customer Service, and Corporate functions) to ensure day-to-day compliance

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience working in Export Control and Sanctions within a multinational, industrial environment
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate cross functional teams in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Ability to work on various subjects with several functions and divisions involved
  • Ability to perform search due diligence, provide legal analysis and interpret laws
  • Ability to manage complex dealing and to provide memo to management
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills required
  • Solution oriented and pragmatic approach as business partner
  • Fluent in English
