Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Legal Administrator to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This position offers flexibility in hours, allowing part-time work as needed, with an anticipated duration of six months. The role is remote, but familiarity with legal practices in McKinney, Texas is highly desirable.

Job Responsibility

  • Organize and maintain legal files for efficient access and management
  • Prepare, organize, and electronically file court documents in Collin County and Travis County
  • Communicate effectively with attorneys and legal professionals to ensure smooth case handling
  • Assist in managing case-related deadlines and schedules through calendar management tools
  • Utilize case management software to track and update legal proceedings
  • Provide support in probate-related matters, including estate guardianship and complex litigation cases
  • Conduct initial document preparation and review to streamline legal processes
  • Coordinate with court systems and ensure compliance with filing requirements
  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to business casual attire standards during client interactions
  • Support attorneys in managing correspondence and administrative tasks related to legal cases

Requirements

  • Proven experience with legal file organization and management
  • Proficiency in electronic court filing systems, particularly in Texas counties
  • Strong familiarity with case management software and tools
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with attorneys and court officials
  • Ability to manage schedules and deadlines using calendar tools effectively
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle sensitive legal documents with discretion
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing time independently

Nice to have

Knowledge of probate and litigation processes is beneficial but not mandatory
