We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Administrator to support day-to-day legal and administrative operations in Boston, Massachusetts. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone with prior exposure to a legal department or law firm environment who can balance organization, client service, and routine billing tasks. The right candidate will be comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, maintaining accurate records, and helping keep legal workflows on schedule.
Job Responsibility
Organize, maintain, and update legal files to ensure documents are accurate, accessible, and properly archived
Prepare and submit electronic court and legal filings in accordance with deadlines and procedural requirements
Track important case dates, hearings, and deadlines while managing calendars for attorneys or legal team members
Enter, review, and support straightforward billing activities, including invoice preparation and basic expense tracking
Use case management software to monitor matter status, document activity, and key administrative updates
Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and internal stakeholders to provide responsive customer service
Assist with drafting, formatting, and revising legal and administrative documents using Microsoft Office applications
Requirements
Prior experience in a legal department, law firm, or similar office setting is preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
Familiarity with legal file organization, court documentation, and electronic filing processes
Experience handling basic billing or invoicing tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to use case management systems and maintain reliable records across multiple matters
Strong customer service and communication skills when interacting with clients and colleagues
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage calendars, deadlines, and competing priorities
