Our client, a successful banking institution, is seeking a Legal Administrative Specialist to join their team in Saco, Maine. In this role, you will provide essential legal support to the Director of Legal across various areas, including commercial loans, real estate transactions, and litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to problem-solving, exceptional organizational skills, and a strong ability to manage deadlines effectively.
Job Responsibility:
Draft and process legal documents related to commercial loan closings and real estate transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Support litigation matters by preparing pleadings, discovery, and related filings
coordinate with outside counsel as needed
Communicate and coordinate with outside counsel, real estate brokers, title companies, and municipalities
Track active matters, deadlines, and follow-ups to maintain efficient workflow and organization
Prepare correspondence and sensitive materials with a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and discretion
Maintain organized paper and electronic filing systems to ensure accessibility and compliance
Support daily Legal Department operations, including scheduling, calls, and special projects
Conduct legal and factual research to support departmental initiatives and case matters
Collaborate cross-functionally with lending, compliance, and operations teams to ensure seamless processes
Ensure compliance with internal policies, banking regulations, and professional standards
Requirements:
5+ years experience in corporate law, real estate law, collection litigation, or commercial loan documentation
Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
paralegal program preferred
CLA or CP certification is a plus but not required
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
detail-oriented and dependable
Proactive problem-solving skills, anticipating issues and streamlining processes
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively
Handles sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal document management
Capability to travel to Court and Bank locations as needed
