We are looking for lawyers to join our team as either a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in our Law Academic Team based at our Leeds Campus. This role operates on a 5-over-7-day working pattern, which may include evenings and weekends to support our flexible delivery model. Reporting into our Academic Management Team, you will be providing tuition across The University of Law course portfolio including the BPC, SQE, Law Conversion Programmes (PGDL and MAL), LLM in Legal Practice, LLB, Professional Skills Course/Professional Development, Academic Masters courses and/or other University courses to the best possible standard.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver high quality teaching and support for learning
Identify the need for developing the content, structure, assessment within modules with colleagues and make proposals on how this should be achieved
Contribute to effective design and review of inclusive learning
Maintain quality standards and regulations in curricular design
Routinely communicate complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers using high level skills
Act as a module tutor, academic coach and sign-post students on pastoral aspects during their learning journey
Providing tuition across The University of Law course portfolio
Teaching and assessing on our programmes
Deliver our Professional Development courses to practitioners
Design and assess on our CILeX programme
Involved in Higher Rights assessment design and assessing candidates
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) or equivalent or willingness to work towards
Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards PGCHE
Postgraduate qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject (for Senior Lecturer)
Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) (for Senior Lecturer)
Sufficient breadth and depth of professional experience in the relevant discipline to develop teaching programmes and learning support
Professional, credible, commands respect
Nice to have:
Qualified lawyers (solicitors and barristers) with experience in practice, to teach on our BPC and SQE professional courses
Experience in all areas of law
