The Construction and Built Environment School at Preston College is recruiting for a Lecturer in Painting and Decorating to inspire and develop the next generation of skilled tradespeople. Due to growth and to meet the skills needs of Lancashire, this is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing curriculum team. Teaching across Levels 1 to 3, you will deliver a programme of practical and theoretical sessions that prepare students for industry and further progression. We are seeking an individual with passion, drive and enthusiasm to join our construction team as we continue to provide high-quality learning opportunities aligned to local employer and industry needs. You will be able to adapt your teaching to support all students to succeed, progress and achieve their career goals. The ideal candidate will have strong occupational competence in painting and decorating and be qualified to Level 3 in a relevant trade. A teaching qualification is desirable; however, if you do not currently hold one, we will support you to achieve this through funded training and development. At Preston College our vision is ‘to transform lives through education’, and we take great pride in supporting all of our students to achieve the qualifications they need, alongside the development of technical skills and knowledge that employers and universities are looking for. We are rated Good by Ofsted and have been recognised as making a ‘strong’ contribution to skills. We are ambitious in seeking excellent outcomes for our students, communities, employers and staff. We have a strong College culture, underpinned by five key values developed with our diverse body of staff; Welcoming and inclusive; Supportive and compassionate; Aspirational for our learners, ourselves and each other; Act with integrity and transparency; Be accountable. With Outstanding financial health, the College provides generous terms and conditions that are intended to attract, motivate and retain the best people in delivery of our strategic objectives.
