The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a Lecturer in Mathematics/Statistics beginning in the Fall Semester of 2026. The position serves general education and Mathematics and Data Science & Statistics majors. It requires effective communication and interpersonal skills with undergraduate students and the university community. The successful candidate will teach primarily undergraduate Mathematics and/or Introductory Statistics courses. Teaching duties may include on-campus, on-line, and/or regional campus responsibilities. The University places a high priority on being leaders in the responsible use of artificial intelligence and in building such capacity in our students.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain a workload consistent with the needs and priorities of the college and institution, teaching courses as assigned at the times and in the locations necessary to meet the needs of EKU students
Utilize effective teaching methods, innovative teaching techniques, and teaching modalities, and multiple evaluation and assessment procedures as a means to help meet the needs of EKU students
Demonstrate the ability to teach, develop, and implement courses related to one’s curricular area
Requirements:
Earned master's in Mathematics, Mathematics Sciences, Statistics, or a closely related field (with a minimum of 18 hours graduate-level course work in Mathematics) from an accredited institution at the time of appointment
Knowledge of current practices in professional communication and social media

15 credit hours of instruction per semester
Nice to have:
