Job Responsibility:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality teaching sessions in uniformed services and sport that meet curriculum standards and learner needs
  • Develop and update course materials ensuring relevance to current industry practices and standards
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to maximise learner achievement
  • Engage with industry partners to enhance course content and provide students with real-world insights and opportunities
  • Support students in developing skills essential for employment within uniformed services and sport sectors, including teamwork, leadership, and physical fitness
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives within the department
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with college policies and quality assurance processes
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current with sector trends and teaching methodologies

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Sport, Uniformed Services, or a closely related discipline
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed) or willingness to obtain one within a specified timeframe
  • Experience working in or with uniformed services, sport coaching, or physical training is highly desirable
  • Demonstrable ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and equality legislation relevant to education settings

Nice to have:

Experience working in or with uniformed services, sport coaching, or physical training is highly desirable
