Job Responsibility:
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality teaching sessions in uniformed services and sport that meet curriculum standards and learner needs
Develop and update course materials ensuring relevance to current industry practices and standards
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to maximise learner achievement
Engage with industry partners to enhance course content and provide students with real-world insights and opportunities
Support students in developing skills essential for employment within uniformed services and sport sectors, including teamwork, leadership, and physical fitness
Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives within the department
Maintain accurate records and comply with college policies and quality assurance processes
Participate in professional development activities to stay current with sector trends and teaching methodologies
Requirements:
Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Sport, Uniformed Services, or a closely related discipline
Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed) or willingness to obtain one within a specified timeframe
Experience working in or with uniformed services, sport coaching, or physical training is highly desirable
Demonstrable ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
Knowledge of safeguarding and equality legislation relevant to education settings
Nice to have:
Experience working in or with uniformed services, sport coaching, or physical training is highly desirable
