BA (Hons) Graphic Design and BA (Hons) Graphic Illustration pathway at the University of Suffolk is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking 0.4 FTE Lecturer to join the course team, with a focus on the integration of motion design, and delivering core Adobe Creative Cloud skills and across the programme. The successful candidate will introduce Level 4 students to fundamental software literacy as a foundation for creative development, while also advancing motion design practices throughout all levels of the degree.
Job Responsibility
Introduce Level 4 students to fundamental software literacy as a foundation for creative development
Advancing motion design practices throughout all levels of the degree
Contribute to teaching, learning and assessment across modules
Deliver workshops in motion-based software, as well as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Support students in building confident digital workflows, enhancing creative problem-solving, enabling visual communication, and extending their portfolios through motion design
Contribute to scholarly activity, research, and knowledge exchange
Engage in course development, recruitment activity (including open days), and wider School initiatives
Offer opportunities to contribute to curriculum innovation, build external networks, and enhance the University’s academic profile through research and professional engagement
Requirements
A degree in graphic design, illustration, or a related discipline, and either a recognised HE teaching qualification or a willingness to achieve Fellowship of Advance HE
Contemporary experience in graphic design and/or illustration, with knowledge of current debates and contexts in the field
Strong digital skills, including proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and support a diverse student cohort
The ability to contribute to research, scholarship, or professional practice
Strong organisational skills, professional judgement, and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
