As our Lecturer in English, you will work primarily in the 14-16 college with Key Stage 4 learners engaged across a range of courses providing support needed to achieve their programme of study. The post holder will need to be innovative in their teaching methods and responsible for aspects of leadership within the curriculum. Job Responsibility
Deliver teaching and learning across a range of qualification types, ensuring stretch, challenge, and engagement of learners
Plan and prepare lessons and contribute to all relevant teaching documentation including schemes of work, lesson plans, online resources, etc.
Mark learner work, providing meaningful feedback on how improvements can be made
Maintain accurate records and monitor learner attendance and progress, planning additional support when required
Fully engage with the quality assurance processes within the curriculum area
Attend team meetings and communicate with colleagues, sharing good practice within the curriculum area and the wider college when required
Represent the college at parent evenings, taster days, open days, careers, and other educational events
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of subject specialism by engaging with appropriate professional development
Requirements
Level 3/4 qualification in relevant subject
Written and verbal communication skills
Cert. Ed/ PGCE or willingness to work towards
Demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
Able to work with students of all ages in classroom, workshop and one to one situation, including students from Hull College School
