Job Description:

As our Lecturer in E-Sports, you will work primarily with students engaged across a range of courses providing support needed to achieve their programme of study. The post-holder will need to be innovative in their teaching methods and responsible for aspects of leadership within the curriculum.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver teaching and learning, ensuring stretch, challenge and engagement of students of all ages and abilities
  • Collation and submission of financial claims as required to appropriate funding bodies and partners as required
  • Plan, prepare and update all relevant teaching documentation including schemes of work, lesson plans and online learning materials, using Canvas
  • Lead, coordinate and support course activities which will support the achievement of curriculum area targets
  • Accurately carry out the qualification completion process within the departmental systems in a timely manner
  • Take responsibility and facilitate academic tutorials for students
  • Be involved in the marketing, promotion, recruitment and interviewing of students, including attending open events, school tasters and enrolment events, amongst other activities
  • Assess, monitor, and record feedback to students to facilitate their best achievement using the College’s data systems and processes, working to exam board guidelines and quality systems
  • Lead, coordinate and support IV/IQA processes within the curriculum area
  • Contribute to the quality assurance processes and curriculum design within the area
  • Attend meetings and communicate with colleagues within the curriculum area as and when required
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of subject specialism by attending appropriate professional/vocational updating

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a level 2 qualification in English and maths
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training/Cert Ed/PGCE (or willingness to achieve within two years)
  • Subject specific Level 3/4 qualification
  • Experience of working in an academic setting and working with learners to support their needs
  • Ability to use own initiative to develop and improve the service within the constraints of the College policy and procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
