As a Lecturer in Business, you’ll design dynamic learning plans and session materials, create assessments, prepare engaging resources, and deliver impactful teaching that helps every student reach their full potential. You’ll also provide essential guidance and support throughout their learning journey, making a real difference in their success.
Job Responsibility:
Teach a range of FE Business courses, including designing schemes of work, session plans, assessments, resource preparation, delivery, marking, and student support
Carry out assessment activities, including setting and marking coursework
Monitor student work standards against awarding body guidelines using tracking systems, working closely with programme managers and verifiers
Set, promote, and monitor aspirational targets for all students
Provide personal and academic support through Individual Learning Plans and during teaching and assessment
Manage and administer units effectively and efficiently
Support programme managers by contributing to curriculum innovation and development of new study areas
Promote Business courses via school liaison, open events, interviews, and marketing activities
Liaise with industry/employers to secure quality work experience, placements, and enrichment opportunities (e.g., projects, talks, trips)
Fulfil pastoral, administrative, and curriculum development duties as part of the course team
Participate in evaluation processes and report outcomes to senior management
Requirements:
Degree in Business (2:1) or a related subject
GCSE English Language and Maths, Grade 4 or above (A-C)
Teaching qualification to Level 5 (desirable) or willingness to obtain
Experience in managing and motivating young learners (16–18 years old)
Recent teaching experience in further education, with delivery of BTECs and/or T Levels a definite advantage
Proven ability to enthuse and inspire FE learners using a variety of innovative teaching and learning techniques
