As our Lecturer in Brickwork, you will work primarily with students engaged across a range of courses providing support needed to achieve their programme of study. The post holder will need to be innovative in their teaching methods and responsible for aspects of leadership within the curriculum. Job Responsibility:
Deliver high-quality, engaging and challenging teaching and learning, employing innovative and interactive teaching methods to ensure stretch, challenge, and engagement of students of all ages and abilities
Leading, coordinating and supporting course activities to achieve curriculum area targets, including collation and submission of financial claims to appropriate funding bodies and partners as required
Planning, preparing and updating all relevant teaching documentation including schemes of work, lesson plans and online learning materials using Canvas
Facilitating academic tutorials, contributing to marketing, promotion. Recruitment and interviewing of students and participating in open events, schools tasters and enrolment events
Assessing, monitoring and recording timely feedback to students, leading IV/IQA processes, and contributing to quality assurance processes and curriculum design within the area
Maintaining up to date knowledge of the subject specialism by attending appropriate professional/ vocational updating
Attend meetings and communicating with colleagues within the curriculum area as and when required
Leading, coordinating and supporting course activities that will support the achievement of curriculum area targets. Accurately carry out the qualification completion process within the departmental systems in a timely manner
Requirements:
Specialism in Brickwork at level 3 and above
Cert. Ed/PGCE or willingness to work towards
GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
Experience working within Further/Higher education
Experience of course leadership
The ability to work as a professional team member and able to liaise with tutors, employers, awarding bodies and other agencies
The ability to work flexibly, including evening and weekend work
