We are seeking a Lecturer in Auto Body Repair and Refinishing to join our team. In this role you will deliver teaching in Motor Vehicle Refinishing across Levels 1–3, incorporating the embedding of English and maths where appropriate. Undertake course leadership responsibilities and contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum within the department.
Job Responsibility
Prepare and develop high-quality teaching and learning materials
Deliver engaging and effective learning sessions tailored to the needs of individual students, courses, and the wider curriculum, while maintaining accurate attendance records and promoting positive behaviour
Set, assess, and record coursework and assessments in line with awarding body requirements
Provide academic and pastoral support to students, offering guidance on progress and referring to specialist services where appropriate, and contributing to progress reviews and reports
Maintain high expectations of learners’ performance, commitment, and behaviour, taking appropriate action to uphold standards
Contribute to the work of subject and programme teams, as well as relevant committees and boards
Support the promotion of the Institute’s programmes by attending events such as open evenings, parents’ evenings, careers events, and school visits
Continuously evaluate and enhance the quality of teaching and learning through engagement with the College’s quality improvement and observation processes
Requirements
Evidence of recent CPD
Significant experience of working in industry within a practical motor vehicle environment
Experience of maintaining equipment associated with vehicle service and repair workshops
Experience of training and assessing automotive subjects
Level 3 qualification or equivalent in vehicle service and repair
Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent
Level 5 Teaching Qualification / completing within 3 years of employment or 3 years of the first available course
