Job Responsibility

  • Teach graduate level courses within Educational Leadership and Administration, equivalent of 24 credits per academic year
  • Support doctoral candidates through inquiry and/or research projects
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Department, School of Education, and University
  • Support continuous development of our department faculty, processes, and programs in the practical and applied work deconstructing discriminatory hierarchies and social structures in PreK-12 school systems

Requirements

  • Valid administrative credential (e.g., principal, superintendent)
  • Minimum of three years as a PreK-12 administrator
  • Demonstrated success teaching post-secondary learners
  • Record of emerging scholarship (e.g., publications, presentations, grant writing, product design, etc.)
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching, research, and service through the demonstrated ability to work with, and be sensitive to, the educational needs of all students
  • Demonstrated commitment to Gonzaga's mission
  • Master's Degree

Nice to have

  • Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Education or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in PreK-12 education at the building, district, regional, or state level
  • Recognized contributions to the field of PreK-12 education (e.g., awards, publications, grants, professional development initiatives, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to help others grow in their leadership capacity
  • Successful advisement of graduate students
  • Successful development of, and instruction in, online courses (e.g., trainings, graduate courses, etc.) through various modalities (e.g., online, face-to-face, hybrid)
  • History working with one or more of the following: Schools with high levels of diverse learners
  • Schools with a diverse faculty and leadership structure
  • Indigenous pedagogies
  • Participatory or community-based research
  • Catholic or independent/private schools
