Job Description:

The Construction and Built Environment School at Preston College is recruiting for two Lecturers in Carpentry and Joinery to inspire and develop the next generation of skilled tradespeople. Due to growth and to meet the skills needs of Lancashire, this is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing curriculum team. Teaching across Levels 1 to 3, you will deliver a programme of practical and theoretical sessions that prepare students for industry and further progression. We are seeking individuals with passion, drive and enthusiasm to join our construction team as we continue to provide high-quality learning opportunities aligned to local employer and industry needs. You will be able to adapt your teaching to support all students to succeed, progress and achieve their career goals.

Job Responsibility:

  • Level 3 in a relevant trade

  • Contribute to curriculum development by supporting new programme design and producing schemes of work, year plans and training plans
  • Maintain effective communication and working relationships with internal colleagues and external partnes to enhance the learner experience
  • Support wider College activities, including open evenings, employer events and apprentice sign‑up processes
