The Leave of Absence Analyst is responsible for managing employee leave and return to work processes, ensuring a smooth process for colleagues while adhering to legal requirements and company policies. This role involves coordinating with HR, business leaders, colleagues, and our third party leave and workers comp administrators. This role will be on-site at Sysco Minnesota: 2400 County Rd J, Mounds View, MN 55112, and will also support Illinois and Wisconsin. Must be able to work second shift 1 day a week.
Job Responsibility:
Manage Leave Requests: Evaluate and process requests for various types of leave (FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, etc.) including coordination of state paid benefit programs
Consultation: Provide guidance to colleagues regarding leave policies, procedures, and their rights including state paid benefit programs
Return to Work: Review and audit Return to Work process for claims, including Return to Work transitional program, process with external vendor and internal business units to ensure compliance including Return to Work transitional program
Documentation Review: Review medical documentation and other required paperwork to ensure compliance with legal standards
Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for colleagues on leave, maintaining regular communication to address concerns and provide updates
Collaboration: Work with HR, payroll, and management to ensure proper leave administration and return-to-work processes
Compliance Monitoring: Stay updated on federal, state, and local leave laws to ensure compliance and implement necessary policy changes
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of leave requests, approvals, and denials
Reporting: Generate reports on leave trends, usage, and compliance metrics for management
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and/or equivalent experience
Previous experience in case management, HR, or leave administration preferred
Strong knowledge of leave laws (FMLA, ADA, etc.) and company policies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Problem-solving abilities
Time management
Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office Suite
