Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Lease Accountant to join our client's team on a full-time, onsite contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842 and proven experience implementing FinQuery (formerly LeaseQuery) software. This role will be critical in supporting day-to-day lease accounting operations, while also leading or assisting with the successful usage and optimization of the FinQuery platform.

Job Responsibility:

Support the end-to-end implementation of FinQuery, including lease data extraction, and answering systems questions
Ensure all lease data is accurately entered into FinQuery and reconciled with the general ledger
Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for FinQuery within the accounting department
Provide training and ongoing support to internal teams for software utilization and functionality improvements
Interpret lease agreements to determine proper accounting treatment under ASC 842
Prepare and maintain monthly lease accounting schedules, including journal entries, amortization schedules, and reconciliations
Assist with external audits by preparing supporting documentation related to lease accounting
Ensure accurate reporting and compliance for audit readiness
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including real estate, legal, IT, and finance, to streamline lease processes
Provide recommendations for process improvements and integration strategies

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 3+ years of lease accounting experience, with a strong knowledge of ASC 842 compliance
Proven experience implementing or optimizing FinQuery / LeaseQuery platform
Adept proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, data analysis, etc.) required
Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle is a plus
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

Nice to have:

CPA certification or progress toward CPA designation
Experience working in a multi-entity or global lease environment
Prior consulting or project management experience specifically related to system implementations
