Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Lease Abstractor to support the review and validation of commercial lease agreements. This role is responsible for analyzing lease documents, extracting key terms, and ensuring accuracy between lease agreements, internal systems, and invoices. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with lease administration or property management data.

Job Responsibility:

  • Review and analyze commercial lease agreements to extract critical terms and financial details
  • Compare lease abstracts against system data to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Validate key lease components including lease commencement and expiration dates, rent schedules and escalation terms, CAM charges and reconciliations, invoice amounts and billing structures
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between lease documents, system records, and invoicing
  • Maintain and update lease data within lease administration software or internal systems
  • Partner with accounting, property management, and billing teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Support audits, reconciliations, and reporting related to lease portfolios
  • Ensure compliance with lease terms and internal processes

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in lease abstraction, lease administration, property accounting, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of commercial lease structures, including CAM, rent escalations, and billing terms
  • Experience reviewing invoices and reconciling financial data against contract terms
  • Familiarity with lease administration systems (e.g., Visual Lease, Yardi, MRI, or similar)
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and data validation
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

Nice to have:

  • Experience supporting multi-site or high-volume lease portfolios
  • Exposure to accounting functions such as billing, reconciliations, or general ledger support
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with finance, operations, and property teams
