Experience or willingness to learn about supporting learners with PMLD and complex SEND
Confidence or willingness to provide personal care with dignity and respect
Understanding of communication needs and alternative communication methods (or willingness to train)

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young adults

Job Responsibility

Supporting young adults (post-16) with complex SEND and PMLD to develop essential life skills, confidence, and independence
Supporting students across curriculum areas including preparation for adulthood, horticulture, and hospitality
Providing personal care support
Using Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) systems, Makaton signing, objects of reference, and intensive interaction approaches
Supporting sensory processing and regulation needs
Supporting learners with anxiety disorders, SEMH needs, and trauma-related needs

Possessing prior experience with learning disabilities and autism is highly advantageous
Delivering one-on-one support in clients' homes
