Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Worker to join our specialist SEN school in Cranleigh. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people with special educational needs. As a Learning Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team to support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, communication difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment that enables every pupil to thrive.

Job Responsibility:

Provide support, care and teaching to autistic adult learners
Plan, prepare and deliver activities supporting the development of knowledge and skills
Provide behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours that impact quality of life
Provide personal care, encouraging and enabling adult learners to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene, including toileting, dressing and washing
Support adult learners participation in social, leisure and educational activities within the local community, applying theory-based learning to practice
Support adult learners to access work experience and employment opportunities
Track adult learners progress, ensuring support, care and teaching is appropriate and effective

Requirements:

Is patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education
Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)
Communicates effectively and works well as part of a team
Is resilient, flexible, and eager to learn
