Job Responsibility
Supporting autistic adults on a 1:1 and small group basis
Planning and delivering engaging learning activities and life skills sessions
Supporting communication, independence and social development
Providing behaviourally based support to reduce barriers to learning
Supporting learners with personal and intimate care where required
Assisting learners to access social, leisure and employment opportunities within the community
Encouraging learner choice, confidence and decision-making
Monitoring and recording learner progress and adapting support strategies where needed
Administering medication once trained and following company procedures
Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and professionals to achieve positive outcomes
Maintaining a calm, safe and positive learning environment
Requirements
Experience supporting adults or young people with disabilities (professional, personal or voluntary)
Comfortable supporting individuals with challenging behaviour
Comfortable providing personal/intimate care where required
Calm and resilient approach under pressure
Positive, patient and caring attitude
Passion for supporting autistic individuals to develop life skills and independence
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality
GCSE English & Maths Grade C/4 or equivalent desirable
Commitment to ongoing professional development
