You will be the bridge between our learners and their goals, helping them acquire the skills they need to enhance their well-being and thrive within their community.
Job Responsibility:
Teaching & Mentoring: Planning and delivering engaging activities that build real-world knowledge and skills
Community Integration: Supporting learners as they access social, leisure, and employment opportunities
Behavioural Support: Using positive, theory-based strategies to reduce barriers to learning and improve quality of life
Personal Care: Providing essential support with dignity-including hygiene, dressing, and toileting-to ensure learners feel their best
Progress Tracking: Collecting and recording data to ensure our teaching methods are effective and evolving with the learner
Requirements:
Experience (professional, personal, or voluntary) with disabilities is highly valued
Comfortable providing intimate/personal care
Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent preferred)
A commitment to safeguarding (this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check)
Resilient: You stay calm under pressure and are comfortable supporting individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviour
Empathetic: You are a "people person" with a patient, person-centred approach
Proactive: You have a "can-do" attitude and a genuine interest in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Autism
Collaborative: You enjoy working in a team and building trust with learners and their families
