Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated individual to join our team as a Learning Support Worker, providing 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs. This is a fantastic permanent opportunity for someone passionate about making a direct and meaningful difference in the life of a young person with SEN. You will work closely with a specific student, helping them to thrive within a supportive and specialised environment, and will receive comprehensive training and mentoring from experienced SEN educators.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs
  • Assist the student in accessing the curriculum, understanding tasks, and completing work, particularly in Maths and English
  • Support the student in developing their academic, social, emotional, and independent living skills
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, therapists, and other support staff
  • Help to implement the student's individualised learning plan (ILP) or education, health and care plan (EHCP)
  • Contribute to the monitoring and tracking of the student's progress
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Build a strong, positive, and trusting relationship with the student, as well as with their parents/carers and colleagues
  • Participate actively in relevant staff meetings and training sessions

  • GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or higher are required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
