Job Description:

The Learning Support Teacher works collaboratively with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure students with additional learning needs can access the curriculum, engage meaningfully in learning, and develop independence. The role focuses on implementation and support rather than formal diagnosis.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide in-class, small-group, and targeted learning support for identified students
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Apply evidence-informed strategies and accommodations for diverse learning needs
  • Support students with learning difficulties, executive functioning challenges, language-based needs, and social-emotional learning barriers
  • Collaborate strongly with teachers to scaffold learning, clarify success criteria, and support differentiation
  • Demonstrate curriculum understanding sufficient to explain and present learning content
  • Support implementation of assessment accommodations
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and leadership
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to an inclusive school culture

Requirements:

  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology
  • preferably in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Special Needs, or a related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in learning support or inclusive education
  • Experience in IB and/or Cambridge programmes desirable
  • Familiarity with assistive technology advantageous
  • Strong English proficiency
  • EAL experience advantageous
  • Collaborative and student-centred
  • Effective communication and organisational skills
  • Reflective and flexible practitioner
  • Commitment to safeguarding and wellbeing
  • Strong passion for working with students with diverse needs

Nice to have:
