Job Description:

Serve as a case manager for students identified as special needs, including writing and updating Individual Learning Plans. Through a range of strategies, to provide ongoing special needs support to identified students throughout the school.

Job Responsibility:

  • assuring appropriate education for identified special needs students
  • participating in schoolwide RTI process
  • assisting teachers in following the schoolwide referral process for Learning Support assistance
  • participating in school meetings and programs
  • completing paperwork requested
  • being available to meet with parents or students
  • joining mainstream teachers for conferences with parents of each students with an ILP
  • serving on committees as requested or assigned
  • carrying out any other specific duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Has a Bachelor Degree or license in special education
  • Has the sensitivity to multicultural perspectives
  • Demonstrates ability to plan, organize, execute and evaluate in the office and classroom setting
