Job Description

Maxim Healthcare is hiring for a Learning Support Specialist to work one-one-one children and/or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and similar developmental delays and behavioral health challenges.

Job Responsibility

  • Help children work on social skills, communication skills, and repetitive or restrictive behaviors
  • Document child progress and milestones
  • Follow and implement behavior change plans created by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts

Requirements

  • Passion for working with children and adults with special needs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Technological proficiency including mobile devices for documentation
  • Proficiency in the English language is required
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Successful completion of 40-hour and ABA Training. Training provided, must be completed prior to providing service.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Current PPD or Chest X Ray
  • Ability to effectively elicit/ provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients)
  • Completion of college coursework in one of the following programs: psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, human development, or a minimum of one year experience working with children in the following capacities: Child Development, Camp Counselor, Paraprofessional, Behavioral Interventionist, ABA Therapist, or Behavior Technician required
