Job Description

St Columba’s College Ltd is a Catholic secondary girls’ school located in Essendon under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and conducted in the tradition of the Sisters of Charity. St Columba’s College is seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Officers (LSO) to join our Learning Diversity team. This role plays a vital part in supporting our students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally within an inclusive Catholic learning environment. This is a fixed term (with the possibility of ongoing) part time position until the end of 2026 working Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm.

Job Responsibility

  • Work collaboratively with teachers to support students with diverse learning needs across Years 7–12
  • Provide in-class assistance, small-group support and individualised learning adjustments
  • Assist with the implementation of Personalised Learning Plans and evidence-based interventions

Requirements

  • Has a genuine commitment to supporting young people with diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication, teamwork and relationship-building skills
  • Able to follow teacher direction while working proactively and independently
  • Experience in learning support, youth work, education support or similar fields (desirable)
  • Certificate III or IV in Education Support (advantageous but not essential)
