Job Description

This school is a specialist school that supports severe and complex needs SEN needs, currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant. The role entails supporting children on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis, and being integral in ensuring their well-being, building confidence, developing life skills and encouraging socialisation. Required on a full time permanent basis, term time only, Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30pm.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting children on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis
  • Supporting the 'whole child' in education, well-being, confidence, life skills, and socialisation
  • Supporting the delivery of engaging and interactive lessons and learning activities
  • Communicating with teachers over pupils' progress and participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole school training events

Requirements

  • Relevant SEN experience (desirable)
  • Previous experience working or volunteering with children or young adults (desirable)
  • English and Maths GCSE or equivalent
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
