Job Description

Learning Support Assistant (LSA) | Academic Inclusion | Local Schools. Position: Full-Time, Long-Term (Term Time Only). Salary: £90 - £95 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience). Start Date: Immediate / Next Term. Are you an academically minded, supportive individual with a knack for making difficult concepts click? Join our network as a Learning Support Assistant and help students overcome learning barriers to reach their full potential.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead small group interventions in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Teach students how to learn, focusing on organisation, memory techniques, and confidence-building
  • Differentiating Resources: take standard lesson and re-package it creating simplified worksheets, visual aids, or word banks
  • Small Group Leadership: take charge of breakout sessions guiding 3-5 students through specific task
  • Promoting Independence: use scaffold and fade technique
  • Progress Tracking: maintain clear records of student breakthroughs and hurdles providing vital data to Class Teacher and SENCO

Requirements

  • Are Academically Confident: strong GCSEs (especially in English and Maths) and the ability to explain academic concepts clearly and creatively
  • Are Proactive: spot a struggling student and move in to offer support before they lose focus
  • Have Relevant Experience: university tutoring, coaching, or previous school work helping others learn
  • Are Committed: hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and dedicated to Safeguarding
