As an LSA, you are the vital link between the teacher's lesson plan and the student's understanding. You will work primarily with students in Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) as they transition to high school, and Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11) as they prepare for their GCSEs.
Job Responsibility:
Support students in 1:1 or small group settings to help them access the curriculum
Adapt learning materials to suit the specific needs and abilities of individual pupils
Help manage classroom behaviour to create a calm and productive learning environment
Guide students through social interactions to build their confidence and emotional resilience
Assist teachers in tracking progress and identifying areas where a student needs extra care
Provide a safe and encouraging space for students with additional learning needs to thrive
Requirements:
A minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) is essential
A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is highly desirable
