We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join our team, supporting students across schools in the Burgess Hill area. This rewarding role involves working closely with teachers and pupils to help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every child can reach their full potential.
Job Responsibility
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with varying learning needs
Assist students in accessing the curriculum and achieving their educational goals
Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism, ADHD, and speech and language needs
Encourage positive behaviour and promote student wellbeing
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals where required
Help prepare learning materials and classroom resources
Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers
Requirements
Have a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
Be patient, caring, and adaptable in their approach
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Have experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, or support setting (desirable but not essential)
Be able to build positive relationships with students and staff
Hold a relevant qualification or training in education, childcare, or SEND support (desirable)
Provide details for us to complete reference checks before employment
Provide an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
