A brilliant special educational needs school local to you is looking for an outgoing and dedicated Learning support assistant to work with young people (aged 7-16 years) with learning difficulties and speech and language needs. You will be supporting children on a 1:1 basis helping the learners to access learning based on their individual learning plan and ECHP. Your focus will be to support them to become independent and confident learners. This school believes that no child should be limited and every child should have the support to grow, develop and hit personal milestones. This opportunity is needed on a full time, permanent basis. This is a fabulous opportunity to join a lively team that focuses strongly on the core areas of education, independence and inclusion. This role is needed 08:30-4:00pm Monday-Friday starting September.

Job Responsibility

Interacting and participating with the students in the development of skills, supporting pupils to reach their potential for independence
Supporting clients' participation in social, leisure, educational and employment opportunities within the local community
Providing the support and care identified in students' individual learning plans
Encouraging and enabling students to maintain acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene
Participating in relevant training to achieve required qualifications and attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required

Requirements

GCSE's with minimum Grade C/ level 4 or equivalent, including Maths and English language
Experience of working with adults or children with learning or communication difficulties
Honest, trustworthy & ethical behaviour at all times
Own means of transport (desirable)
The desire to help others to enjoy learning and develop independence
