We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a full-time, long-term position within a well regarded SEN School. As an LSA, your role is beautifully dynamic: you will be a vital resource for the class teacher, focusing your energy on students who need that extra bit of scaffolding to thrive. From helping a small group master a tricky math concept to keeping an individual student focused during a busy lesson, you will be the driving force behind their daily progress.
Job Responsibility
Targeted Academic Scaffolding: Work alongside the class teacher to support individuals or small groups, breaking down complex tasks into manageable steps in subjects like English, Maths, and Science
Inclusion Champion: Support students with mild-to-moderate learning differences (such as Dyslexia, ADHD, or mild ASD), ensuring they can access the mainstream curriculum alongside their peers
Executive Function Support: Help students develop strong organisational skills, teaching them how to manage their time, organise their worksheets, and track their homework assignments
Confidence & Oracy Building: Guide students through classroom discussions, encouraging reluctant learners to voice their ideas and build their communication skills
Progress Observation: Keep track of how students are responding to different learning strategies, providing valuable feedback to the teacher to help shape future lesson plans
Resource Adaptation: Create or modify learning materials under the teacher's guidance-such as visual aids, vocabulary word banks, or simplified instructions-to suit different learning styles
