We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant practitioner to join an inclusive 11-16 academy, providing key SEN support within the classroom on a 1:1 basis and working closely with other teaching staff to ensure provision is effective and that learning needs are met.
Job Responsibility
providing personalised SEN provision on a 1:1 basis
supporting the pupil in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level
adapting the learning to make it accessible for students with specific needs
providing pastoral support
monitoring progress to feed back to the class teacher
working closely with relevant staff to ensure an individual can achieve to the fullest extent
Requirements
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum
GCSE English and Maths at C grade or above
Experience of supporting pupils with SEN and utilising strategies to manage behaviours and meet needs, including supporting speech and language
Awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies to implement effective provision, including working with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions
Ability to effectively communicate on the pupil's progress, with strong written and verbal communication skills
