A primary setting in the Worthing area is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join its team. This role centres around supporting a child with additional needs so that they can participate fully in daily school life, while also contributing to the wider Early Years or Key Stage 1 environment. This is a hands‑on, rewarding position where you will play a key part in helping a young learner feel confident, safe and supported throughout the school day. Working under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo, you will help break learning activities into small, achievable steps and ensure the pupil can access the curriculum at a pace that suits them. Your day will involve providing structured support during lessons, encouraging social interaction at playtimes, and helping with routines such as transitions, lunch and personal care. The role includes lunchtime supervision. The role is permanent and based within EYFS or KS1 depending on where support is needed most. Responsibilities may evolve as the child or setting changes over time.
