Job Description

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive school community in Dorking. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people by helping them achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Job Responsibility

  • Support pupils individually and in small groups to access learning activities
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage student independence
  • Provide additional support for pupils with SEND, including those with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Help monitor and record student progress
  • Support pupils during breaktimes, educational visits, and extracurricular activities where required
  • Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

Requirements

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children and young people
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
  • Works effectively as part of a team
  • Is reliable, adaptable, and proactive
  • Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
