Job Description:

We are seeking Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across Primary and Secondary settings. Unlike a general assistant, your role is focused on learning outcomes-identifying where a student is struggling and providing the specific scaffolding, tools, and encouragement they need to succeed.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead small group interventions in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Teach students how to learn, focusing on organisation, memory techniques, and confidence-building
  • Differentiating Resources: Take a standard lesson and 're-package' it
  • Small Group Leadership: Take charge of 'breakout' sessions, guiding 3-5 students through a specific task
  • Promoting Independence: Use the 'scaffold and fade' technique
  • Progress Tracking: Maintain clear records of student breakthroughs and hurdles

Requirements:

  • Strong GCSEs (especially in English and Maths)
  • ability to explain academic concepts clearly and creatively
  • experience helping others learn (university tutoring, coaching, or previous school work)
  • hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
  • 100% dedicated to Safeguarding
